Gurukul Program

Radha Madhav Society offers Gurukul classes to open young minds to spirituality and the richness of Hinduism in a very fun-filled and loving atmosphere. The children are exposed to basic Hindu ethical and moral concepts from our ancient scriptures that will not only help them to be proud of their heritage but also start to develop their character.
For the academic year 2021-2022, we are planning to hold our Gurukul classes in-person at our centers at the following two locations.

Gurukul Classes
To serve all the children where there might not be a center run by Radha Madhav Society, virtual Gurukul classes will be offerred on Saturdays for children in the age group of 8-18 years. There are two classes being offerred this academic year.- Lessons from the Bhagvatam (8-12 years): Children will be learning about these lessons in such a way that they will be able to see how these concepts are still relevant in their modern day lives. Classroom discussions and hands-on activities will keep them engaged.
- Wisdom from Kabeer (13-18 years): Children will be learning about the timeless wisdom of Saint Kabeer's dohas (couplets) in this class. The spiritual philosophy will be discussed and analyzed in the context of today's modern life and the challenges that teenagers face in school and at home, especially growing up in the West.

The three levels are:- Hindi – Level 1: Children start to learn the Hindi alphabet. Based on the unique curriculum designed by us, children will be reading simple words and short sentences in no time!
- Hindi – Level 2: Children will build on the skills learned in Level 1. They will become familiar with conjugation of vowels and consonants in the Hindi alphabet and will be able to read and answer questions based on simple Hindi stories.
- Hindi – Level 3: Children will build on the skills they learned in Level 2. They will learn to construct simple sentences, read short stories/poems, carry on a 2–3-minute conversation in Hindi with others, comprehend it, and answer questions based on that conversation.
Placement in Level 2 or Level 3 will be made based on an assessment test administered on Sunday, Sept 12.
